Meet Pastor Troy

Pastor Troy Cameron has been in ministry in one form or another, for almost 30 years, a good portion of that time within Children's Ministry.  In 2012, God laid upon his heart a desire to attend seminary.  Troy earned a Diploma of Divinity (Magna Cum Laude) from Christian Leaders College and was ordained in 2014 by the college, and his home church at the time. He continued his education and received many additional certifications in Family and Marriage Counseling, Children's Ministry. He also received training to be a Life Coach.  His passion is teaching the Truth of God's Word, in context and with proper exegesis , with an emphasis on application.  He believes that God gave us His Word to be understood, to be applied, and to enrich our lives.

Troy and his wife, Wendy have been married for 29 years.  In that time, God blessed them with 7 wonderful children and 5 grandchildren... so far.  For the past 26 years, they have owned a termite and pest control company in Tucson.  In 2013, they felt God calling them to move to Willcox.  Giving their children a simpler lifestyle in this rural community was a true blessing and they were sure this was God's purpose in the move.  However, God in His wisdom waited until the right time and in 2019, He called Troy to start a new church in Willcox.

Since 2019, Cornerstone has been a safe place for people who have experienced "church hurt" because, unfortunately, people in churches often do a really poor job representing the character of God.  "Religion" has no place at Cornerstone, Relationships are the goal; our relationship with God and with one another.  Troy says that one of the first signs on the building is still his favorite.  While still working to make the buildings usable for a church, the sign outside said, "Come on in, the building is still under construction but so are the people inside."   That pretty much sums it up, we are a church family made up of people who are still under construction.
